Collecting Stufffff.

Do you have a collection, or maybe many collections? Probably. If you don't then I have the most perfect thing for you to collect.....DISNEY PINS! Have you ever heard of them? If not they are little pins with Disney characters on them. Some are rarer than others, such as, limited editions, cast lanyards (you can't buy these ones, you have to trade with a cast member at the park), opening day pins, surprise and so forth. The list goes on for a very long time. Now, the Disney parks are were almost all of the trading happens, so next time you go to a park be sure to buy some pins and start trading. How does it work, you might ask. Well at almost all of the shops and kiosks they will sell Disney pins. Once you have your pins you should look for cast members wearing lanyards (necklaces) to trade with. That is how you pin trade. My explanation is not the best so I will copy and paste some stuff from the official Disney website.
Pin Trading has become a Disney tradition with thousands of Guests and Cast Members trading in the Theme Parks and at special locations throughout Walt Disney World® Resort. Pin Traders can also participate in special events, meeting fellow enthusiasts and finding special-edition pins that make their collections unique. For younger Pin Traders there are Cast Members wearing green lanyards who can only trade with Guests 12 and under. Pin Trading is an experience the whole family can enjoy! Be sure to ask Cast Members wearing a pin-trading lanyard about special "Hidden Mickey" collectible pins only available from them in trade.Getting started on Disney pin trading is easy! Just follow these simple steps: 1. Look for a Disney Cast Member wearing a pin trading lanyard.2. Find a Disney pin with your favorite Disney attraction, event or character.3. Trade Disney pins with the Cast Member.

Here's all about my collection and how I got started collecting, if you would like to know.
I started Disney pin collecting a couple of years ago. We booked our trip to Disneyland through AAA. When you book a Disney vacation with AAA you get two disney pins per person booked. Anyways, when we got to the resort we went to pick up the pins at the Disney store in Downtown Disney. We had absolutely no clue as to what these things were, but we wanted to get them because they were free. Haha. We made our way over to the store and went to the pin counter. The lady working there that night explained to us how the trading worked and everything that we would need to know. My mom, my sister, my dad and I were instantly hooked. At that moment we could not start trading because we were going to go and watch the Electrical Lights parade. When that was over we started looking for cast members with lanyards. I finally found one, and on her lanyard was the prettiest pin that I had ever seen. (Keep in mind that I had seen one other pin before this one, lol!) I instantly traded with her and I've been trading ever since. I will admit that it's pretty dorky, but it's lots of fun. At least I'm not a pin geek...(don't ask). Here are some pictures of my collection. :) (Click to make them bigger!) I apologize for the bad scans. I'm not putting up my whole collection, it's too hard to scan haha.

So that's my collection! I apologize for the really bad scans haahaha.

Usually, they sell the starter sets at the parks or you can buy them on eBay. The official Disney site might sell them too.
